Business Day Calendars

Written by Kestutis Vansavicius

The Calendars section under Settings -> Calendars is used to manage non-working days and business day logic in Daymi.

Business day calendars determine how process deadlines and scheduling behave. You can create multiple calendars for different regions, teams, or operational needs, and assign them individually to processes and templates.

Only Super Admins can access and manage calendars.

Managing Calendars

Under Settings -> Calendars, you can:

  • Create and manage multiple business day calendars

  • Add non-working days and holidays

Examples:

  • UK Bank Holidays

  • US Market Holidays

  • Swedish Red Days

  • Internal company shutdown periods

Assigning Calendars to Processes

Each process and template can be assigned a specific business day calendar.

This allows processes to follow different regional or operational schedules independently from each other.

For example:

  • A US process can follow US business days

  • An EU reporting process can continue during UK bank holidays

  • Critical operational tasks can continue running during local holidays

If no specific calendar is selected, the process uses the Default Calendar.

Scheduling Rules

Here are a few important rules regarding non-working days and holidays in Daymi:

Process Type

Behaviour

Daily Processes

Never occur on non-working days

Weekly Processes

Move to the previous business day. If the scheduled day is Monday, the process moves forward by one day (general rule: no duplicates within the same period)

Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly Processes

Move to the previous business day. If scheduled on the 1st day of the period and its program type, they move to the next business day

Once Processes

Always occur one day before the non-working day

All scheduling behaviour follows the calendar assigned to the specific process.
